Love, love the decor and ambiance. They did just a nice job decorating. It's warm, inviting, romantic and a little eclectic. They have only been open a week or two, they are easing in to everything so everything goes smoothly. The owner and chef are very friendly and personable. For dinner we had the lamb sliders, bacon wrapped dates, and the Gumbas, which is a mixture of shrimp, garlic, seasoning and Chorizo. The plating was very nice, the food was fresh , flavorful and you can tell the use quality products. So the bacon wrapped dates with Gorgonzola sprinkled on top were heavenly. The bacon was crisp and the dates were soft, sweet and salty, with the kick of Gorgonzola ...yum. The lamb sliders was very good, it had great texture . The bun was soft on the outside, and toasted on the inside. The burger itself was moist, not too dense, cooked just right, still a little pink. But for me a little strong on the lamb flavor, I tend to like milder lamb. If you are a big lamb fan, you'll love this slider. Also the sauce was soooo good and loved the heat from the Sriracha mayo that was on the plate. The gamba had great flavor my friend wanted to dip all the bread in the sauce. It was a little hard to get the shrimp and Chorizo together and to stay on the crostini. Great food. I will definitely be back, maybe for one of the night they have live music.

This was our first time at this place and we were very impressed. The vibe and design was very eclectic and fun. We enjoyed the musicians too. Nice chill songs. Our server Kirin was very friendly and attentive. The new chef Abdul was nice enough to come by and explain some of the ingredients in our plates. We had the crab cakes, lamb sliders and grilled octopus. All were excellent but our favorite was probably the octopus. Not cheap but prices are are on par for this level of restaurant in downtown St Pete. We will definitely return.

It took an hour and twenty-two minutes to get our food on a Wednesday night, apparently because one of the chefs called out. This place is clearly understaffed, as another reviewer mentioned. The waitresses weren't doing a great job either, they were plenty nice but forgetful, and ours apologized for the wait but did not offer to make it right at all. The food was ok, but overpriced. I don't know if they were supposed to be, but my lamborghinis were cold as if they had just come out of the fridge and barely been warmed. My husband's manchego and macerated tomatoes were pretty tasty. This place's saving grace was the wonderful jazz band, but they need to find a new singer. It was pretty cool that they offered an open jam session to anyone who wanted to come up and perform with them, but that led to a mix of amazing talent and cringe-worthy performances. There isn't a specific ambience to the place- it's decorated like a cafe, but set up like an intimate space. Weirdest decor I've ever seen.

I love the atmosphere. The food was good. Had the tenderloin which was perfectly cooked and the dates were good. House wine at $5 a glass was a deal. They had a flamenco dancer and a band which were fantastic. The only problem was it was New Year's Eve and they were very short staffed. Our dinner took from 8pm to 10:50pm! Way too long. I'm guessing this isn't the norm.

Small selection of Tapas. We began the experience with Grilled octopus with chorizo, was actually decent but the cost of $14 was a bit stiff for a small portion. It was tasty but another Greek restaurant nearby gives you a bigger portion and as tasty. We also ordered half a dozen oyster, there were washed too strong so the briny natural flavor was gone that was about $8. great price! We also ordered empanadas which was not bad and the cost for that single but decent size cut was $6. For my entree I ordered the house special Mediterranean Marinated Lamb with chorizo, the same chorizo with the Tapas and also they had that with couscous, this was $34. The lamb was very small and the chorizo was like two links that was sliced. I was not overly impress with the small portion of the lamb but here is what caught me off guard. The grilled lamb was cooked perfect and as well as the the marination! But the surprise of the night was the couscous that was cooked with ground lamb, the best I ever tasted ever. I normally don't crave for couscous as the ones I've tried before were, not so good. This one is delish! We washed that down with their ginger hibiscus margarita and I, with yuengling beer. We stumbled with this place by accident. We were looking for a specific dining place when we walked in it was eclectic in many ways. For some reason they have too many tables I had thought but the ambience is like eating at Armani in Tampa. The question is would. I return again? Yes I would especially if I want to have another quiet dinner with my wife. I will hope St Pete will find this place, cause it is different and good. I plan to return again maybe a month from now and gauge any change. Good luck to the owners- hint -this place has potentials if St Pete discovers it. By the way, the waitress said," just reopened last May." I hope the reopening was better than the first try.

I was SO excited to try the Edge. I've heard awesome reviews and I wanted to see what the hype was about. So we went about 8 on a Friday night, and the place was dead. Not a good sign. The service was excellent though. We were seated immediately (obviously - there were 2 other tables filled in the whole place), and the waitress was super friendly. The decor of the restaurant is very... eclectic. I couldn't quite figure out the theme they were going for with this restaurant. The chandeliers are very modern looking, but then there are giant African-like masks on the walls and a giant Asian-like mask in the back... and lots of other unique works all over the restaurant. I liked the general vibe of the place, even if I didn't quite get it. Anyways, then we review our menus. It's a one-page menu, which I probably should have looked at before we stopped there. There was NOTHING on the menu that sounded very appetizing to me. I went in there in the mood for Tapas. I mean, it says it in the name of the restaurant. No. Only a very small handful of appetizers, mostly of which were salads and soups. And none of the entrees sounded appealing to me that night. They might have been delicious but I really wasn't in the mood for anything on the menu. Anything on the menu I could have cooked at home that night... and I was looking for something "edgy". :) My date and I ended up ordering the bacon wrapped figs with blue cheese and we each got a drink. The portions were VERY small. I was surprised at how few of figs we got (I think we got 5) and they were small figs. It was VERY tasty though. The drinks were good. But that's all we had there. While the experience was just fine, I probably will not be back.

My fiancé and I came for dinner and left after an appetizer. The menu was a little too short and simple. My fiancé loves tapas and there wasn't much in the way of tapas. In face I find it Funny that a tapas place doesn't even use the word tapas on their menu at all. The prices were decent atmosphere is very dark and eclectic. I couldnt quite figure out what they were going for with the decor. Waitress was VERY friendly and kept up with drinks and service was prompt. Parking is on the street so it can be tough. We had the bacon wrapped dates and they were very good. The house red wine was also delicious. Overall it was decent but will be tough to keep up with all the great places opening and/or open in st pete

Wow- what a gem. My fiancée and I stumbled into the Edge Lounge one night on a Thursday when we trying to find a drink and a bite. First of all - GREAT date night place. The ambiance is smooth and mellow, there are candelabras everywhere. UBER romantic. The food was really good but it did take a while so don't come starving or you will leave hangry (hungy angry). Pro-tips: 1. GREAT date night spot 2. Food takes a while (as per other reviewers as well) 3. Great wine deals 4. Great live jazz music **3/22/15: Just called to make a reservation and they are CLOSED** **7/2015- walked by and spoke to worker outside they are OPEN**

We would recommend this place for sure, it had all the right ingredients: a very cool and unique ambience, great food, sweet easy listening music, very friendly wait staff and attentive owner ... Not to mention it came with two knights in shining armor!

(Phone-entered review on 1st visit) First of all, it's a great location, near shopping and entertainment, but away from the Central Ave bar scene. This place even looks cool from the outside, but opening the doors takes you into a sweet cave of dim blue lighting (balanced) and a non-cheesy Spanish decor: natural wood tabletops, chandeliers, and light desert touches. The only weird thing is the black and white print of the Eiffel Tower, which seems out of place. However, they do mention 'French salsa Verde' on the menu. I just notice these things. I ordered the bruschetta, which was DIVINE. I also had some of their "lamberginis," which are lamb sliders. The first order was delicious, although the buns were soggy and the tzatziki was a bit excessive. I ordered one more, maybe an hour later (I was enjoying a very long stay here), but this one had a very salty taste. I discovered that one of their line cooks had decided not to show up that Friday night, which explained the rushed feeling that overwhelmed the staff and managers. I had a feeling that I was waiting a bit too long for bar service (there was no dedicated bartender), although when I was greeted, I was treated like a princess. I was kind of glad to hear about the absent cook, because then I knew that this wasn't their normal service standard. They were swamped. Still, I enjoyed lots of food and wine without getting impatient and whiny. They had a live Spanish guitar band playing, which was the ultimate highlight of my night! It was lovely, not too loud, and they were talented. The glowing blue lights behind them sealed the ambiance and brought everything together, even though the decor in this establishment is completely and totally random. My boyfriend later referred to it as "like a hipster's apartment." It takes awhile for the details to come into focus, because everything just works together. I think the lighting has a lot to do with this, as well as the Spanish-style wood block tables lit with romantic chandeliers. (continued with 2nd visit) This time, I brought the boyfriend, and we sat in their little couch-lounge corner. The mismatched furniture complemented each other in a very sexy way. The view of the bathroom hall wasn't pleasant, so that corner could use some sprucing-up to distract us. We were greeted fairly promptly by an enthusiastic and friendly server, who ended up recommending menu items as if they had personal significance to her. She seemed to truly love these items, and I took her suggestions on both food and wine. I loved them too! We had the chèvre, which was lovely, sort of like a DIY creamy goat cheese bruschetta. Lamberginis again, and by then I was sure that they are a 3-star dish. The bun is the cafeteria style white soft bread, not toasted, and the tzatziki sauce drowned everything. The patty itself was fairly puck-like. It tasted good, yes, but I'm sure there are some significant improvements to be made on that one. We also ordered the gambas, which my boyfriend really enjoyed but I could take-or-leave. I had ordered empanadas, but our server must have forgotten. I was kind of glad, because I was already full, so I didn't even mention it. Every single employee here seems to have a personal stake in the restaurant. I saw the same 2 employees on both visits (the dark, handsome, friendly guy who seems to own the place, and the sensuous vixen who wears skirts and boots and looks like she's the "real boss."), and they both seemed to operate like sweet machines. The wine list seems to be fool-proof. It's not disgustingly huge, with limited options that represent a palatable spectrum of price. I've never had a mediocre wine here, although I've only ordered 2 bottles total. I do hope the menu revolves a little bit, to reflect freshness and seasonality. The selection of tapas is fairly small, and it may be difficult for some to find what they're in the mood for. The competing tapas restaurant in St Pete has a much, much larger selection, which I normally don't like, but with tapas, I believe it's necessary. Sometimes you really just want some sautéed livers and octopus. No, I don't think Edge should develop a huge menu. I'd just like to see it change a bit and offer a few more options from each category (red meat, seafood, vegetable, starch). Overall, this is a sexy place. I'd bring dates here, or any one of our frequent out-of-town models. We like to scout out stylish eateries in the area, as most of our guests have never been to St Pete and we are very proud of what we've found in this city. Personally, I'm going to add this one to the list of "Sexy places to have a date with yourself and drink a bottle of wine."

Worst ever brunch experience! Never ever again will we go here again. We were a party of 16 and they had not one other person there for brunch. After almost 2 hours 9 of us still did not have our food. The excuses of them only having 4 burners and a chef not showing up were pathetic. The waitress claimed their food was "complex" and that she did not enter the order until 55 minutes after we arrived. I have 4 burners at home and could have cooked up a brunch feast for 16 in less time than the hour they had. We finally got most of the food, told them to cancel our other orders and got out of there. Good luck staying in business. You need to make some major changes. We won't be wasting our valuable time there again in the future. They did give us a substantial discount but they cannot repay us our time.

New year's eve CHAOS.....made a reservation for new year's eve and boy I regret....They were unprepared and understaffed! Completely ruined our family gathering. it took 1.5 hours to get some bread (no joke!) and after more than 2 hours just waiting for the food, they misplaced my credit card which was dropped by the female server in the rush to go to the counter and then, when it was found, the only thing the guy who seemed to be in charge said was "keep calm, sh!t happens"....Really! Talk about empathy...

Really enjoyed this place! The decor is very neat, and the location allows for easy accessibility and parking. For tapas, the portions were really big, and the menu is priced very reasonably. We had the lamb slider, trio of soup shooters, and empanadas. For dessert we had the fried bananas. All were fantastic! The service was a bit slow, so I wouldn't recommend going there just yet if you are tight on time. I can't wait to go back and try more items on the menu!

We LOVE this place. Been there 3 times this week. Met the chef tonight and learned how he prepares the chicken marsala that we enjoyed last week. The tapas are all innovative and delicious with beautiful presentation. Just learned tonight that they will be open for brunch soon. Can't wait!

This was our first visit to the Edge lounge and Tapas, we were not disappointed from the time we walked in to the time we left. This is a place you go to enjoy a evening out, the food is fresh and prepared to order by Chef Ian Florence, We started with the Feta Bruschetta and Bacon wrapped Dates, both were fantastic. There were five of us, 3 had the Pasta Puttanesca, 1 had the Lamb Sliders and I had the Chicken Marsala, it was the best I have ever had. The chicken was crisp on the outside and so moist on the inside, it had wonderful flavors. Five Stars on all dishes. Best of luck to the owner and compliments to the Chef, we look forward to future visits.

Interesting and eclectic decor with a certain international flare. There have been times when the wait for brunch or dinner seemed to take longer than normal so just in case it's one of those evenings or late mornings don't to too ravenous. The food every time I have eaten there has been very enjoyable. I would highly recommend the Lamb Sliders - it's usually my first request though I have visited and they were out (it was late though) Was there recently and the band was just a little too loud for comfortable conversation so I asked management for a different table but they turned the volume down and the evening was a delight. On another note I believe the kitchen is open late on the weekends (well late for St Pete)

I've eaten at the Edge at least six times in the last few months. The food is excellent and the wait staff is super friendly. Sometimes the service can be a little slow, but it's always worth the wait. Try the bacon wrapped dates with blue cheese or the crab cakes. So delicious! Will definitely go again.

Uninspired and Expensive. And have a horrible upset stomach today. The food is better than the cocktails but neither are worth the trip. For great cocktails go the The Bends round the corner and the Food at Engine 9 close by is excellent.

Understaffed... Dropped in on a Wednesday nite. Stood inside at hostess stand unacknowledged. NICE female server with artsy vibe was ONLY person working. She was out of breath and her rushing around the entire room and sidewalk tables was distracting. Ordered lamb sliders, I've had better elsewhere in town. Ordered scallop appetizer, again it was underwhelming and the 2 scallops were on the small side. They were out of 2 bottles of wine we chose so we settled for a third. The jazz band was great. Eat elsewhere, come here for the music.

Ambiance, atmosphere, unusual seasonings on all the food, jazz on Wednesday nights and Flamenco on Saturday nights make this a treat time for the small town of St. Petersburg.

A group of 12 of us went for my birthday and The Edge helped make my birthday celebration super. Attentive staff, AMAZING food and delicious wine. My friends asked for a mind blowing dessert and the chef exceeded all expectations. I will definitely be back whether date night or a group outing.

Love these guys! Samir will take great care of you from the moment you walk in the door. Their decor is warm and eclectic, the live music is groovy and the food is out of this world. Don't miss the Lam-Burg-inis on the menu! This is their rockstar item, but you can't go wrong with the entire menu.

  • Katie B.

This is definitely a cute spot for date night. The service got off to a bit of a slow start but picked up and our server was very nice. The one thing I will say that I've read in other reviews is that the music is WAY too loud. There was an amazing acoustic guitarist playing but it was hard to enjoy at the volume it was being played. It also makes it hard to have a conversation. The food didn't disappoint though. We had several of the tapas options all of which were delicious.

Wonderful chill ambience, exquisite menu items, top-notch staff, eclectic furniture, art, and lighting, wonderful music (live and digital), great beer/wine selection and finely crafted cocktails. In all, a wonderful experience each and every visit!

Always fabulous. Wednesday night traditional jazz...think Coltrabe, Miles Davis, etc. Huge deal. Chicken Marsala is exquisite: a spicy take on the dish that hits all the right notes and adds a few of its own. Paella is great, twice the price almost but a fun treat. Extensive wines list. Owner always has great suggestions that knock it out of the park. Ambiance and alosphere is great. They are doing a great job.

So I walk in, and the music and ambiance immediately caught my attention - very chill and relaxed, gypsy kings-like music. The owner and the employees were very attentive with us (a group of 12!!)... so, so far, 3 stars for meeting expectations. And then, this awesome, awesome food came.... dude, it was all so good. The lamb sliders, the scallops, and the Paellas were really well cooked. Everyone on my table shared the opinion, and they all got different things. Then, the chef came out with dessert. He had this special dessert with apples, berries, nutella, chocolate, banana somethings... its delicious (Im still having it as I type this.) If nothing else, plan your next roup dinner here. The owner, the chef, and Aarom (waiter) made it really special - and I wasn't even the birthday person.

This place is EPIC! The food is incredible, from the tapas to entrees this place is one of the best unknown treasures in St. Pete! We had a table of 6 tonight and everyone was blown away by their meal! One of the best places and values in St. Pete, hands down!! This is a new favorite for sure.

Go to the Edge for the music and atmosphere, it's a perfect venue for entertainment and a few drinks. Although the food is very good the service on both occasions we visited was terrible. It's ashamed that the back and front of the house are shamefully understaffed. Eat before you visit and you'll enjoy a great night!

What a spontaneous surprise! Food was incredible (try the tuna) and the atmosphere is well thought out, trendy chic. Amazingly put together! Owner even surprised us with complimentary mojitos which solidified the cozy, hospitable vibe. We will be regulars for certain!

I'm a born sceptic, but have to say the chef is an extraordinary culinary phenom. The paella is excellent, and the putanesca to die for. And did I mention genuine flamenco, Latin jazz, blues, and jazz jam sessions? Can't say enough. It's a must try in St. Petersburg.

I'll first start off with a compliment. The food was great. BUT.......the service sucked. It sucked so much that I have to give it 2 STARS. They were at only about half-capacity. We were immediately seated, given menus, but it took the waitress 15 minutes to take our drink orders. Then it took her at least 15 minutes to bring the drinks to us. When she did bring the drinks to us, she left us without taking our food order! We even had our menus closed and stacked on the other side of the table. So about ten minutes later, she comes by to take our order. Here's when the big WTF moment happened. While we were waiting(a long time) for our food, the waitress comes over to our table, says "Excuse me, I just gotta grab these" and takes our salt/pepper shakers over to another table of customers and never returned to us with an explanation or a replacement of salt/pepper shakers. I looked to my girlfriend and asked, "Did that just happen?". So finally we get our food, which was about an hour after we were seated. The food was great. But, I couldn't get over the salt/pepper shaker moment. The server never brought us new ones. I had to go find some myself. That was just WEIRD. She didn't even think to take the shakers from a vacant table. She snagged them from our table without explanation. She was also SLURRING so she was either sneaking way too many sips from behind the bar or she was having a stroke. The music was also WAAAAAAAAAY too loud. The band was good, but if you went there to have an audible conversation with your party or loved one, forget about it. We were even sitting in the back, by the door. So don't go to this place unless you are planning on listening to the band exclusively, instead of being able to converse with those you are sitting with. This restaurant really seems out of touch with customer service and ambiance. Overall......the food was good, but the service sucked bad enough to where I would NEVER go there again, nor would I recommend it to anybody....unless they were a glutton for punishment. This place is a FAIL. They have the lighting and decor arranged to be something that it's not. It's lipstick on a pig, basically, when it comes to service. I don't expect them to last a year.

I'm already a huge fan of this place, even though they have only been open for a few weeks. The food is excellent, the staff is amazing, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the owner is wonderful. I know that it seems to good to be true, but you have the check this place out. Did I mention that the prices are more than affordable?

Had a glass of wine and an appetizer and really enjoyed the ambience. The decor is eclectic and comfortable. The wine suggestion by the bartender was perfect and the appetizer of almonds and olives came with cheese and bread and was filling enough for two people. Can not wait to go back.
